Dr. Bret Dyer, Periodontist at Fort Bend Periodontics

Meet Dr. Bret Dyer

Dr. Dyer graduated with a B.A. in biology from the University of Texas at Austin in 1984. He earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) degree from Baylor College of Dentistry (Dallas) in 1988. Much to his chagrin, this Longhorn has his D.D.S. degree from Texas A&M — the university took over Baylor College of Dentistry in the past decade. Dr. Dyer then attended the University of Texas Dental Branch in Houston where he earned a master's in periodontics in 1991.

A Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology, Dr. Dyer has won several awards for his research on regeneration, which has been published in a variety of professional journals. His research on laser treatments led to the FDA approval of the use of lasers in specific periodontal treatments. He is a leader in the field of laser dentistry.

Dr. Dyer is a native of Lamesa, TX where he spent his youth playing tennis, taking piano lessons, and working on his grandparents' cotton farm. After spending a lot of time in his father's dental practice, Dr. Dyer decided at a young age that he wanted to follow in his father's footsteps.

For more than 35 years, Dr. Dyer has been married to his college sweetheart, Jacque. They have two children together, a son and a daughter. Dr. Dyer's family is a source of pride and pleasure. Outside the office, he is an avid cyclist and enjoys bird hunting, gardening, and being active in his church, Christ United Methodist Church.

Dr. Thomas Nguyen, Periodontist at Fort Bend Periodontics

Meet Dr. Thomas Nguyen

Dr. Nguyen graduated with a B.S. in Nutrition from the University of Texas at Austin in 2015. He earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio in 2019. Dr. Nguyen then attended a periodontics residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston where he received his certificate and Masters in Periodontics in 2022.

Dr. Nguyen was very active academically and in research while he attended dental school and periodontics residency. In dental school, he competed in and won several competitions for his research on dental stem cells. In residency, he continued his research with regeneration and won awards for his research on antibodies and growth factors.

Born in Houston, Texas, Dr. Nguyen spent the majority of his youth in Katy, TX. He participated in most sports, including flag football, basketball, and tennis, and spent time helping his parents in their computer store.

Dr. Nguyen enjoys spending his free time playing golf and tennis, traveling to explore new places, and trying different restaurants. He loves to try new places to eat — so make sure you give him a suggestion when you visit!

With more than two decades of experience, she’s known for keeping everything running smoothly and for her friendly, dependable approach.

Sam joined our team in early 2022 and has been in the dental field for over 20 years. Sam is a native Houstonian who has spent the last 20 years traveling and is very happy to be back home in Texas. She enjoys getting to know our patients at the front desk.
Kaitlin
Registered Dental Assistant
Kaitlin has been a dental assistant for 18 years, and still loves what she does! Helping patients feel at ease and confident about their smiles is the best part of her job. She and her husband enjoy spending time with their families and spoiling their 12 nieces and nephews.
Gaby
Registered Dental Assistant
Gaby brings with her many years of experience in the periodontal and oral surgery fields. She has been with the team since 2016. She enjoys improving her patients smiles and helping them feel comfortable. She is bilingual. Gaby is married with two daughters and one son
Rachelle
Registered Dental Assistant
Rachelle has been a Dental Assistant for more than 13 years and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Public Health. When she’s not helping patients smile, she enjoys traveling, relaxing near the water, and spending time with her teenage son and their frenchie Bailey.
Carly
Registered Dental Assistant
Carly is a dedicated dental assistant who loves helping patients feel comfortable and cared for. A proud wife and mom of three, she enjoys the simple joys of country living.
Jacque
Special Projects Administrator
Jacque is Dr. Dyer’s wife and works part-time in the office providing support for special projects. She has previously worked full-time at our front desk, as well as in higher education public relations and communications.
Julie
Registered Dental Hygienist
A Texas native and a proud Texas A&M–Corpus Christi graduate with a degree in Biomedical Science and a Dental Hygiene degree from WCJC. She’s all about bright smiles, friendly faces, and creating a comfortable experience for every patient.
Maria
Registered Dental Hygienist
Maria is our part-time hygienist who has been with us for over 20 years. When she is not working in our office, she is kept busy with many activities, including traveling to Mexico for relaxation and fishing, running, attending sports events, and spending time in Giddings, TX at Twin Creeks Ranch with her family.
